TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS IN THE PURSUIT OF THEIR CHOSEN GOALS AND THE ACHIEVEMENT OF PERSONAL SATISFACTION IN THEIR LIVES.
SKILL BUILDING ASSISTANCE CONSISTS OF ACTIVITIES THAT INCREASE AN INDIVIDUAL'S SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND/OR ENGAGEMENT IN MEANINGFUL ACTIVITIES, SUCH AS SCHOOL, WORK AND VOLUNTEERING. THE ACTIVITIES MAY BE PROVIDED IN A CENTER, COMMUNITY OR HOME SETTING. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES EDUCATION AND SPECIALIZED SKILL DEVELOPMENT. THE MAIN GOAL IS FOR THE PARTICIPANT TO BECOME READY FOR EMPLOYMENT AND TO MAINTAIN THAT EMPLOYMENT. STEP SERVED 1,610 INDIVIDUALS IN THEIR SKILL BUILDING PROGRAM THROUGHOUT THE FISCAL YEAR. DUE TO COVID-19, WE ALSO ADDED A VIRTUAL SKILL BUILDING COMPONENT THAT SERVED UP TO 100 INDIVIDUAL CONSUMERS. OUR CLIENTS REPORT 95% SATISFACTION WITH THE COMMUNITY BASED SKILL BUILDING ACTIVITIES.
STEP CONSUMERS HAVE A WIDE RANGE OF MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS. SUPPORTS COORDINATION PROVIDES THE LINKING, MONITORING AND COORDINATING OF SERVICES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PERSON CENTERED PLAN PROCESS. STEP PROVIDES SERVICES IN A VARIETY OF WORK AND RESIDENTIAL SETTINGS. THE PROGRAM OBJECTIVE IS TO WORK WITH FAMILIES, CARE PROVIDERS AND NATURAL SUPPORTS TO COORDINATE CARE. ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED WITH ALL MATTERS OF ENTITLEMENTS, INCLUDING SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICAID, SSI, MEDICARE, HOME HELP SERVICES, SECTION 8 HOUSING AND BRIDGE CARDS. MANY OF THE PERSONS SERVED IN THIS MANNER ALSO PARTICIPATE IN SKILL BUILDING AND SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM. 95% OF THOSE WHO RECEIVED SUPPORTS COORDINATION REPORTED THEY HAD RESOLVED A MAJOR ISSUE IN THEIR LIFE THANKS TO STEP'S INTERVENTION.
SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT PROVIDES SUPPORT AND SERVICES TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS WITH OBTAINING AND MAINTAINING PAID EMPLOYMENT WITHIN INTEGRATED, COMMUNITY WORK SETTINGS. STEP HELPS FIND EMPLOYMENT THAT MATCHES AN INDIVIDUALS INTERESTS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE. PARTICIPANTS ARE EMPLOYED IN A VARIETY OF AREAS INCLUDING RETAIL, JANITORIAL, FOOD SERVICE, HOTELS, ANIMAL CARE AND RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES. STEP ASSISTS IN THE CREATION OF AN EMPLOYMENT PLAN, RESUME PREPARATION AND JOB DEVELOPMENT. 100% OF INDIVIDUALS REPORTED SATISFACTION WITH THEIR JOB PLACEMENTS AND 100% OF EMPLOYERS WHO WORKED WITH STEP CONSUMERS REPORTED SATISFACTION WITH THE EMPLOYEES THEY RECEIVED FROM STEP.
