THE PROGRAM HELPS STUDENTS MEET STATE AND LOCAL STUDENT STANDARDS IN CORE ACADEMIC SUBJECTS, SUCH AS READING AND MATH; OFFERS STUDENTS A BROAD ARRAY OF ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES THAT CAN COMPLEMENT THEIR REGULAR ACADEMIC PROGRAMS; AND OFFERS LITERACY AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO THE FAMILIES OF PARTICIPATING CHILDREN. CURRENTLY, ALL PROGRAMS ARE BEING CONDUCTED REMOTELY AND AN ESTIMATED 500 YOUTH WERE SERVED IN 2019 IN GRADES 5-12.

THRIVE - FOUNDATION, THE LITTLE VILLAGE RECONNECTION HUB IS A CENTRAL SPOT TO LINK OPPORTUNITY YOUTH TO SERVICES THEY NEED TO SUCCEED. THE HUB IS GENERALLY FOR YOUTH 16-24 YEARS OF AGE WHO ARE READY TO START THEIR EMPLOYMENT OR EDUCATIONAL PATH. THROUGH COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS THE YOUTH ARE WRAPPED AROUND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES, INCLUDING EMOTIONAL SUPPORT, FINANCIAL COUNSELING, HOUSING REFERRALS, EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATION RESOURCES, CHILDCARE, MENTORING AND LEGAL-AID RESOURCES. WHETHER A YOUTH IS SEEKING A CAREER PATHWAY, COLLEGE ENTRANCE, OR GUIDANCE THROUGH A DIFFICULT SITUATION, HUB STAFF ARE SUPPORTED TO HELP THE YOUTH FIND A PATHWAY TO ACHIEVEMENT AND GREATER INDEPENDENCE. CURRENTLY ALL PROGRAMS ARE BEING CONDUCTED VIRTUALLY AND AN ESTIMATED 450 OPPORTUNITY YOUTH WERE SERVED IN 2019.

CHICAGO COOK WORKFORCE PARTNERSHIP, AT LITTLE VILLAGE - THESE PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO MEET THE EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF OPPORTUNITY YOUTH AGES 16-24. THE PROGRAMS PROVIDE CAREER COACHING, GED PREPARATION, JOB READINESS SKILLS, OCCUPATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING, WORK-BASED LEARNING, JOB SEEKER AND EMPLOYER SERVICES, YOUTH RE-ENTRY PROGRAMS AND SUPPORT SERVICES SUCH AS TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE. THIS HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM SAW AN INCREASE OF 50% THE NUMBER OF GED GRADUATES IN 2019. THE MEASURE OF THE PROGRAM'S SUCCESS IS THE FACT THAT IN 2019 THE PROGRAM WAS AT FULL ENROLLMENT CAPACITY.
