Organizations Filed Purposes:
WCHAP provides health education to families, helps doctors improve their quality of care, and acts as a voice for issues affecting children's health.
Support for Preventative Healthcare and Developmental Screenings WCHAP calls families to ascertain that they are educated in the use of doctors facilities for well and sick visits. WCHAP works to assist families schedule and follow up with appointments, to determine when emergency care is necessary, and to meet any other needs that may be inhibiting proper health care. WCHAP also ascertains that children are getting important developmental screenings that may indicate a concern in growth, including working with the State of Michigan to ensure that newborn babies in Wayne County are receiving appropriate screenings for hearing loss.
Asthma Education WCHAP's asthma education program works with parents, their children, and their children's doctors to get and keep asthma under control.
Fit Kids 360 This is an eight week program for overweight children between the ages of 5 and 16. This program invites all members of the family to learn about healthy foods, different kinds of physical activity, and how to practice habits that will help children get on and stay on the Fit Kids program.
