Organizations Filed Purposes:
PROVIDE A LOVING HAND TO IMPOVERISHED WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN MALAWI AND KENYA BY PROVIDING CLEAN WATER, SAFE SHELTER, NOURISHMENT, EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, AND MICRO-ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT.
EDUCATION PROGRAM - THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES FUNDING TO SCHOOLS IN KENYA AND MALAWI TO CONSTRUCT NEW BUILDINGS AND EXPAND OPERATIONS. THE SCHOOL IN KENYA PROVIDED EDUCATION TO 406 STUDENTS, MANY OF WHOM WERE ON A REDUCED FEE PROGRAM. FOR MALAWI, THE ORGANIZATION BUILT A SECOND 2-ROOM BLOCK, WHICH ALLOWS TO EXPAND TO FORM 3 AND FORM 5, INCLUDING A TEACHER'S ROOM. ALSO, 50 STUDENTS WHO LIVE MORE THAN 3KM FROM THE SCHOOL ARE LENT A BICYCLE TO ATTEND SCHOOL. IT CONTINUES TO SUPPORT THE OPERATIONS OF SCHOOLS WITH PROVIDING BOOKS FOR A LIBRARY, DESKS, AND OTHER NEEDS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES FUNDING TO INDIVIDUALS TO ATTEND SECONDARY AND COLLEGE. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES A HOT LUNCH OF RICE AND BEANS TO STUDENTS IN KENYA TO APPROXIMATELY 800 STUDENTS AND STAFF RESULTING IN IMPROVED ATTENDANCE AND PERFORMANCE.
HEALTH PROGRAMS - THE ORGANIZATION CONSTRUCTED OR REFURBISHED 10 DEEP WATER WELLS IN MALAWI AND CONTINUE TO ESTABLISH A COLLABORATION WITH ANOTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION TO BRING LIFE SAVING PORTABLE ULTRA-SOUND PROGRAM TO NURSES AND MIDWIVES WORKING AT RURAL HEALTH CENTERS IN MALAWI IN AN ATTEMPT TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF TEENAGE GIRLS AT THEIR BABIES DYING IN CHILDBIRTH.
SELF DETERMINATION PROGRAM - THE ORGANIZATION SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE RECENTLY GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE AND ARE PURSUING A CAREER. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES LOCAL VILLAGES WITH RESOURCES THEY NEED TO BE SUSTAINABLE. CURRENT PROGRAM INVOLVES GOATS, MICRO-LOAN AND IRRIGATED FARMING FIELDS. 30 FEMALE GOATS WERE PROVIDED TO 30 FAMILIES AND 2 MALE GOATS WERE PROVIDED TO THE VILLAGE, WHEREBY THE 30 RECIPIENT FAMILIES AGREED TO GIVE THEIR FIRST FEMALE GOAT OFFERING TO ANOTHER FAMILY IN THE VILLAGE.
