OUR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES, OVER 55 IN NUMBER, FOCUS ON FOUR PRIMARY AREAS: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND COUNSELING, CHILD WELFARE, FAMILY PRESERVATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH. ALL OUR PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED WITH THE GOAL OF KEEPING FAMILIES TOGETHER WHENEVER POSSIBLE. SIMPLY PUT, WE FEED THE HUNGRY, COUNSEL THOSE WHO STRUGGLE, PROTECT AND SAFEGUARD CHILDREN AND BUILD STRONG FAMILIES-WITHOUT REGARD TO AGE, BACKGROUND, RACE OR RELIGION.
FAMILY PRESERVATION - ALL PROGRAMS OF CATHOLIC CHARITIES WEST MICHIGAN ARE DESIGNED WITH THE GOAL OF KEEPING FAMILIES TOGETHER WHENEVER POSSIBLE. WE ARE COMMITTED TO MEETING THE NEEDS OF OUR FAMILIES TO ENSURE THEIR LONG-TERM STABILITY AND SAFETY OF THEIR CHILDREN. FAMILY PRESERVATION PROVIDES A CONTINUUM OF HOME-BASED SERVICES, FROM PREVENTION AND TREATMENT PROGRAMS TO CRISIS INTERVENTIONS AND REUNIFICATION PROGRAMS. OUR FAMILY PRESERVATION PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO GIVE FAMILIES THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO BE STRONG, STABLE AND HEALTHY. IN KEEPING WITH BEST PRACTICES, WE WORK WITH FAMILIES IN THE HOME. FAMILY PRESERVATION OPERATES 30+ PREVENTION AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS TWO SENIOR PROGRAMS, THROUGHOUT OUR 11 COUNTY FOOTPRINT.
CHILD WELFARE - THROUGH OUR CHILD WELFARE PROGRAMS, INCLUDING FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION, WE ENSURE THAT ALL CHILDREN, REGARDLESS OF THEIR BACKGROUND, RACE OR RELIGION, HAVE A SAFE PLACE TO CALL HOME. AS ONE OF THE LARGEST PROVIDERS OF FOSTER CARE IN MICHIGAN WE SERVE OVER 300 ADOPTION AND FOSTER CARE CHILDREN DAILY. WE ARE FOCUSED ON FAMILY REUNIFICATION, WORKING WITH FOSTER FAMILIES, CHILDREN AND BIRTH PARENTS TO DEVELOP A PLAN TO REUNITE THE FAMILY AND ENSURE IT IS STRONG AND HEALTHY. WE USE MI TEAM, A PHILOSOPHY DESIGNED TO BRING THE BIRTH FAMILY, FOSTER PARENTS AND OTHER COMMUNITY PARTNERS TOGETHER TO REDUCE INHERENT CONFLICTS IN THE FOSTER CARE PLACEMENT AND WORK TOWARD THE COMMON GOAL OF REUNIFICATION. IN ADDITION, WE GO BEYOND STATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PROVIDE INTENSIVE AND ONGOING SUPPORT AND EDUCATION FOR FOSTER PARENTS TO ENSURE THEY HAVE THE TOOLS AND THE TEAM NEEDED TO PROVIDE A SAFE, NURTURING HOME. THROUGH OUR ENHANCED FOSTER CARE PROGRAM CHILDREN PLACED IN FOSTER CARE ARE PROVIDED EXTRA SUPPORT AND SERVICES WHEN NEEDED. ENHANCED FOSTER CARE PROVIDES THE RESOURCES TO KEEP CHILDREN IN THEIR FOSTER HOME AND OUT OF AN INSTITUTIONAL CARE ENVIRONMENT. PREGNANCY COUNSELING IS ALSO AVAILABLE THROUGH CATHOLIC CHARITIES PROVIDING SUPPORT NAVIGATING THESE SOMETIMES DIFFICULT LIFE SITUATIONS.
PREVENTIVE AND COUNSELING SERVICES - OUR BEHAVIOR HEALTH AND COUNSELING PROGRAMS HELP INDIVIDUALS FACE THE CHALLENGES OF EVERYDAY LIFE BY PROVIDING COUNSELING AND TREATMENT FOR PARENTING ISSUES, SUBSTANCE ABUSE, FAMILY ISSUES AND INDIVIDUAL ISSUES SUCH AS DEPRESSION, ANXIETY AND OTHER MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. WE PROVIDE SERVICES IN NUMEROUS WEST MICHIGAN LOCATIONS AND OUR STAFF INCLUDES 20+ CLINICIANS. THESE CLINICIANS COME FROM A WIDE POOL OF SPECIALTIES TO LINK THE MOST APPROPRIATE THERAPIST TO EACH OF OUR CLIENTS. AS A COMMUNITY-BASED PROVIDER OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, WE ARE SKILLED AT TREATING PEOPLE COPING WITH MULTIPLE ISSUES AND ARE ABLE TO CONNECT THEM WITH MUCH NEEDED SOCIAL SERVICES WHILE WE PROVIDE COUNSELING.
