Organizations Filed Purposes: To connect new American women with people and opportunities in their new community so they can put their roots down deep and stand tall for generations to come

Community Development - Sister Circles is an accelerator program that helps refugee women and teen girls accelerate their process of belonging in their new community through economic and community development activities. Participants receive one-on-one monthly coaching from their Treetops community connector, weekly meetings with a cross-cultural partner, and a 9 month series of workshops to better connect them to their community. Sister Circles also serves cross-cultural partners to educate them on immigration and equip them to create a more welcoming community. In 2019, we served 31 refugee women and teen girls and 35 cross-cultural partners. We work intensively and holistically with each participant because we believe it takes this level of investment to create lasting change for a woman and her family. This is the reason we choose to serve women in cohorts- we are not simply a service delivery model, we are creating a community of change where everyone has the chance to lead each other forward to greater belonging.

Social Enterprise - Treetops Collective's Social Enterprise provides a fair wage to refugee women and teen girls who are making and selling our goods. Although this initiative fits in to our priority of economic development, it also serves as an engagement tool for our broader community who get to see the skills and talents refugees are bringing to our community; this flips the dominant narrative that refugees take from their communities of resettlement, when in fact, they add both cultural and economic prosperity. In 2019, 7 refugee women were employed or engaged in contract work. Teens had their first job experience, learning sales, marketing, storytelling, and how to launch a creative product of their own ideas. Over 1,110 customers were reached with the story of welcoming. In 2019 our Social Enterprise is pursuing contract sewing work to expand opportunities for the women we serve.
