Organizations Filed Purposes: Christ Child Society of Northern Michigan is an organization dedicated to child welfare. Its motive and spirit is the love of Christ expressing itself in personal service for children and youth regardless of race or creed. The Society accomplishes its mission through its volunteer membership and by supporting organizations that further its mission.

The Societys mission is to serve the needs of infants and children in Northern Michigan, without prejudice, through the personal service of its membership in the love and spirit of the Christ Child.

The Societys mission of assisting needy children is primarily fulfilled through projects of the volunteer membership including providing over 400 layettes/diaper bags for mothers, backpacks for Head Start students, purchasing school clothing and school supplies for over 200 students, Care Kits for children placed in foster care, providing child car seats for families unable to afford them, a diaper pantry, and a food pantry at a local school to ensure students have adequate food over weekends, and Christmas shopping for over 175 children. Additionally, the Society will give direct assistance for specific items, such as purchasing cribs, assisting with utilities,etc.

The Society provides funds for camperships, preschool scholarships, and other educational support. In 2014, the Society provided 1,920 to local pre-school programs to assist with scholarship cost and 2,900 for a special needs child to attend Bay Cliff Health Camp. Other funds were used for camp programs, art programs, after school care, and Special Olympics.

The Society fulfills its mission of assisting needy children by providing grants to local service organizations and educational programs. Organizations supported include the spirit camp for youth with disabilities, Wolverine Public Library summer reading program, Petoskey Public Schools laptops, Harbor Springs Public Schools kindergarten home visit supplies, Wolverine Public Schools playground equipment and field trip to ArtPrize for 40 juniors and seniors.
