Organizations Filed Purposes:
Raincatchers designs, installs and maintains rainwater collection systems in Haiti. We recruit volunteers from churches, high schools and colleges to deliver, install and maintain the systems. Our goal is to address the deplorable yet preventable health conditions that results from Haiti's critical shortage of safe water, while providing a youth leadership training experience in an environment requiring the ability to improvise and adapt.
Installation of 39raincollection systems with 18 participants. Each system serves several families and captures 5,000 - 6,000 gallons of filtered water per year.
Covered 12 kaypays (Cornstalk huts) with waterproof tarps to provide protection from weather. Each kaypay serves as a home for a Haitian family.
Distributed clothing, medical supplies and financial assistance to families, orphans and adults living in Seguin, Haiti.
