The Capital Area College Access Network is a community collaborative focused on making completion of postsecondary education an achievable reality for all residents in the capital area by fostering high educational aspirations through the alignment of our institutions and resources. The Goal of Capital Area College Access Network (CapCAN) is to increase college and career readiness, participation and completion particularly among low-income, first generation college-going students and students of color.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is supported by the Internal Revenue Service through grants, technology and training materials. This program was operated by Capital Area United Way beginning 4/27/18. We provide leadership and volunteers to prepare about 4,000 returns annually.
