West Michigan Symphony connects and enriches our diverse community through the transformative power of music.
Concerts: Serving as an anchor to Muskegon's arts community for 80 years, WMS has assisted in the recent renaissance of Muskegon's business district by maintaining its downtown offices and helping populate the city streets and businesses during concerts and other events. This promotes a more vibrant place to live, work and play. WMS truly believes that classical music is for everyone and through that expression we continually are inspired to find new ways to connect to our community.
Education Programs: The West Michigan Symphony presents the Link Up program which pairs the orchestra with 4th grade classes for a yearlong, hands-on music curriculum culminating in a spring concert at the Frauenthal Theater reaching 4,600 students from 54 elementary schools in six Michigan counties annually. WMS also has a Children's Choir that provides training and performance experience to school-aged children throughout the Lakeshore communities. The choir performs at WMS concerts and independent concerts in the community.
