ANGELS' PLACE IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE HOMES AND HOPE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN.ANGELS' PLACE WAS FOUNDED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF AGING PARENTS OF ADULT CHILDREN WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, TO RESPOND TO THE UNCERTAINTY THAT EVERY PARENT OF A CHILD WITH A DISABILITY HAS, AND TO ADDRESS THE QUESTION: WHO WILL CARE FOR MY ADULT CHILD WHEN I AM NO LONGER HERE TO DO SO?IT IS THE INTENT OF ANGELS' PLACE TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION AND EASE THAT PARENTAL FEAR WITH A COMMITMENT OF CARE FOR LIFE. IN MANY INSTANCES THIS COMMITMENT OF CARE CAN SPAN 40-50 YEARS, THROUGH VARIOUS PHASES OF LIFE AND THE MANY COMPLEXITIES OF CARE AND AGING. THEREFORE, OUR PLANNING, OUR GROWTH AND OUR FISCAL MANAGEMENT MUST BE PRUDENT AND ENDURING. FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY IS ESSENTIAL TO THE ORGANIZATION'S EFFECTIVENESS IN MEETING THE LIFE-LONG NEEDS OF EACH PERSON SERVED TODAY AND THOSE TO BE SERVED IN THE FUTURE.

ANGELS' PLACE PROVIDES HOMES AND SUPPORT TO 94 ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. WE CURRENTLY OPERATE 20 HOMES. OUR FOCUS IS PROVIDING CHRISTIAN, FAMILY-LIKE ENVIRONMENTS. WE TRAIN AND/OR ASSIST WITH ALL ASPECTS OF ADULT DAILY LIVING INCLUDING PERSONAL GROOMING, HOUSEKEEPING, MEAL PREPARATION, EMPLOYMENT AND RECREATION. THE ABUNDANT LIFE SERVICES PROGRAM PROVIDES IN-HOME RESPITE SERVICES AND SOCIAL OUTINGS FOR PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. THIS PROGRAM SERVES APPROXIMATELY 35 PEOPLE. THE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM SERVES INDIVIDUALS DURING THE WEEKDAYS THAT ARE UNEMPLOYED OR UNDER-EMPLOYED, AND PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP, MAINTAIN AND ENHANCE SKILLS THAT WILL ASSIST THEM WITH IMPROVING THEIR EMPLOYMENT READINESS, LIVING INDEPENDENTLY, CONTRIBUTING TO THEIR COMMUNITY IN A MEANINGFUL WAY, AND LIVING A HAPPY AND FULFILLED LIFE. THIS PROGRAM SERVES APPROXIMATELY 45 PEOPLE.
