Organizations Filed Purposes: ADVANCES THE NEEDS OF THE CHALDEAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY AND THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THEY LIVE AND WORK THROUGH EDUCATION, CHARITABLE GIVING AND ADVOCACY.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES: THE CHALDEAN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION HAS BECOME THE KEY SERVICE AND PLANNING ORGANIZATION FOR THE CHALDEAN COMMUNITY IN THE METROPOLITAN DETROIT AREA. ACCORDING TO THE MOST RECENT POPULATION STUDY, THE CHALDEAN COMMUNITY IS COMPRISED OF APPROXIMATELY 150,000 PEOPLE IN MORE THAN 30,000 HOUSEHOLDS. THE FOUNDATION AND ITS PARTNERS PROVIDE SERVICES THAT BENEFIT 150,000 PEOPLE ANNUALLY IN THE METROPOLITAN DETROIT AREA AND THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF MICHIGAN. THE CHALDEAN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH MACOMB COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO PROVIDE ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE SERVICES AND WORKFORCE TRAINING THROUGH THE REFUGEE ACCOUNTABILITY SUSTAINABILITY AND TRAINING (RAST) PROGRAM. RAST ALSO AIMS TO SOLVE THE MAJOR ISSUES AFFECTING TODAY'S REFUGEE POPULATION INCLUDING IMMIGRATION, TRANSPORTATION, LONG-TERM HOUSING, JOB PLACEMENT AND LEARNING THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. THE CCF ALSO PARTNERS WITH THE CHALDEAN AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (CAAHP) TO PROVIDE NEW AMERICAN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES. THE CCF UTILIZES THE BREAKING BARRIERS PROGRAM TO PROVIDE SERVICES AND ADVOCACY TO THOSE WITH MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES.

RAST AIMS TO SOLVE THE MAJOR ISSUES IMPACTING TODAY'S REFUGEE AND IMMIGRANT POPULATION INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION, HOUSING, JOB PLACEMENT, LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT, MENTAL HEALTH, IMMIGRATION, SOCIAL AND GOVERNMENT PROGRAM DIRECTIVES, AND BASIC NECESSITIES. THE GOAL FOR THIS POPULATION IS TO ACCULTURATE AND BECOME LESS DEPENDENT ON FEDERAL AND STATE SUBSIDIES AND SERVICES. AMONG ITS SERVICES INCLUDE: ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE ON-SITE ENGLISH LEARNING CLASSES TAUGHT THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH MACOMB COMMUNITY COLLEGE. IMMIGRATION SERVICES HELPS INDIVIDUALS APPLY FOR LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS AND TO BECOME NATURALIZED CITIZENS. CAREER SERVICES PROVIDES JOB SEARCH, TRAINING AND PLACEMENT. CERTIFIED HEALTHCARE NAVIGATORS ON-SITE TO ENROLL INDIVIDUALS IN THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (ACA) AND HEALTHY MICHIGAN PLAN (HMP). (FUNDED ENTIRELY THROUGH COMMUNITY DONATIONS).

PROJECT BISMUTHA: PROJECT BISMUTHA IS ADMINISTRATED THROUGH THECHALDEAN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION BY THE CHALDEAN AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OFHEALTH PROFESSIONALS. PROJECT BISMUTHA (THE "ACT OF HEALING") PROVIDES FREE MEDICAL SERVICES FOR UNINSURED IRAQI CHRISTIANS. COMPASSIONATE VOLUNTEER HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS ARE COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF MEDICALLY UNINSURED CHALDEAN ADULTS BY PROVIDING HEALTHCARE AND ACCESS TO PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION. LAB WORK IS PROVIDED BY ST. JOHN PROVIDENCE HEALTH SYSTEM. PROJECT BISMUTHA IS OPEN TO ADULT MEMBERS OF THE METRO DETROIT IRAQI CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY WHO ARE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 19 AND 64 YEARS OLD, COMPLETELY MEDICALLY UNINSURED, MEET THE FINANCIAL ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES, NOT ELIGIBLE FOR MEDICAID OR MEDICARE, AND LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES.
