FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMS - THE ST. LOUIS AREA FOODBANK DISTRIBUTED OVER 53,000,000 POUNDS OF FOOD AND HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS THROUGH A NETWORK OF OVER 600 MEMBER AGENCIES (PANTRIES, SHELTERS, SOUP KITCHENS, SCHOOLS, SENIOR CENTERS AND OTHER COMMUNITY FEEDING PROGRAMS) LOCATED IN 14 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEASTERN MISSOURI AND 12 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWESTERN ILLINOIS. AT LEAST 392,700 (UNDUPLICATED) INDIVIDUALS BENEFITTED, 123,308 OF WHICH ARE CHILDREN. DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMS INCLUDE:AGENCY EXPRESS: MEMBER AGENCIES HAVE ACCESS TO OUR 24-HOUR ONLINE ORDERING SYSTEM. AGENCIES CAN PICK UP THEIR ORDER AT OUR FACILITY OR HAVE IT DELIVERED DIRECTLY TO THEIR AGENCY. MORE THAN 50% OF OUR OVERALL DISTRIBUTION IS DELIVERED TO PARTNER AGENCIES.MOBILE MARKETS: FRESH PRODUCE IS A CRITICAL COMPONENT OF A HEALTHY DIET. EVERY DAY WE DELIVER PALLETS OF FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES TO PARTNER AGENCIES WHO THEN MAKE IT AVAILABLE TO THEIR CLIENTS. 641 MOBILE MARKET DELIVERIES DISTRIBUTED FRESH PRODUCE, DAIRY, AND MEAT TO PARTNER AGENCIES, BENEFITING AT LEAST 67,877 FAMILIES. FOOD FAIRS: OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE SURE FOOD RESOURCES ARE DISTRIBUTED EQUITABLY AMONG THE MOST VULNERABLE POPULATIONS. 50 ONE-DAY FOOD FAIRS PROVIDED 10,482 FAMILIES IN RURAL COUNTIES WITH NUTRITIOUS FOOD. SCHOOL MARKETS: DESIGNED TO INCREASE FOOD ACCESS FOR STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES WHEN SCHOOL IS IN AND OUT OF SESSION, SCHOOL MARKETS PROVIDE HEALTHY SNACKS THROUGHOUT THE DAY OR BAGS OF GROCERIES FOR THE WEEKEND. 166,820 MEALS WERE PROVIDED TO CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. DISASTER RELIEF: DURING A DISASTER, THE FOODBANK LEVERAGES OUR NETWORK OF AGENCY PARTNERS INCLUDING FOOD PANTRIES, TEMPORARY DISASTER RELIEF PARTNERS, COMMUNITY PROGRAMS ENSURING THAT FOOD IS AVAILABLE WHEN AND WHERE IT IS NEEDED MOST. 16,795,542 MEALS WERE PROVIDED TO FAMILIES THROUGH OUR DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS. SENIOR BOXES: OVER 12,930 SENIORS RECEIVED MONTHLY FOOD BOXES FILLED WITH USDA PRODUCTS DESIGNED TO SUPPLEMENT ONE MEAL PER DAY. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING: WE WORKED WITH CASEWORKERS AT LOCAL SHELTERS, TREATMENT CENTERS, AND OTHER SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES TO PROVIDE FAMILIES WITH A MONTH'S WORTH OF FOOD AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS TO SUPPORT THEIR TRANSITION FROM TEMPORARY HOUSING INTO A HOME OF THEIROWN.
