Organizations Filed Purposes: Missouri River Relief 's mission is to engage individuals and communities along the Missouri River in the exploration, enjoyment, restoration and care of the river through hands-on river clean-ups, education programs and recreation.

River Relief Inc is committed to physically picking up trash from the Missouri River, and through volunteer cleanups on the river and educational events seeks to inspire in people a sense of stewardship and love for one of the country's greatest resources, the Missouri River.

Missouri River Relief hosted or participated in nine river clean-ups in 2019, utilizing the help of 1,149 volunteers who helped remove more than 20 tons of trash from the river's environment. 42 miles of river bank were cleaned in communities from Kansas City to St. Louis.

Missouri River Relief hosted numerous education events for students, teachers, young adults and adults throughout the year. We combine place-based education and inquiry-based science for both formal and non-formal educators in professional development programs. In 2019, River Relief worked with 2,236 students and 289 teachers.

Missouri River Relief holds outreach events in order to educate people about our organization and our efforts on the Missouri River. In 2019, Missouri River Relief worked in 20 different communities along the river, gave 21 presentations about the Missouri River, partnered or hosted 31 Big Muddy Speakers Series events across three cities, helped with five paddling events, conducted 25 educational river trips and worked 10 festivals or booths, introducing more than 6,815 people to the Big Muddy.
