Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE ASSOCIATION IS A NON-PROFIT MEMBER-DRIVEN ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO SAFEGUARD AND IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF RURAL MISSOURIANS. THE ASSOCIATION ACCOMPLISHES THIS MISSION BY ENGAGING IN PARTNERSHIPS AND PROVIDING LEADERSHIP ON RURAL ISSUES THROUGH ADVOCACY, COMMUNICATION, EDUCATION AND RESEACH.
The Association's Health Tran program provides members a transportation coordination and service to assist identified individuals with access barriers. Designed to primarily help health and wellness providers, Health Tran provides technical assistance and support to members and the communities they serve with a scheduling platform, volunteer driver program, assessments and data collection. Health Tran is supported by the members it serves and grant funding. Most of the rides were provided by MRHA volunteer drivers but public transit, including city bus and taxi companies were also used. In 2019, 239 unduplicated riders received 2,332 rides covering 25,913 miles across 15 counties that were provided by members through the Health Tran program.
Hosted Rural Health Conference for individuals, health providers, exhibitors, and transportation providers to educate and collaborate on creating ideas, techniques, networking, and strategies on partnering to improve access in Missouri to rural health care. There were 202 attendees.
