A community based integrated healthcare system consisting of a 251 bed licensed facility which provides a full range of diagnostic, preventative and healthcare services along with 24 hour emergency room care.
Mercy Hospital Jefferson consists of a 321-bed licensed facility which provides a wide range of services. In fiscal year 2020, the following services were provided 42,842 patient days, 508 deliveries, 34,304 emergency visits, 1,406 inpatient surgeries and 3,201 outpatient surgery procedures. Mercy Hospital Jefferson is committed to providing educational programs to the community. Free seminars and presentations are provided on a wide variety of health issues which impact patients and their families. Free services are also offered to the community such as lipid, cholesterol, bone density and glucose screenings as well as hearing and memory screenings.It is the policy of Mercy Hospital Jefferson to provide uncompensated care to patients in need of financial assistance in accordance with the hospital's established guidelines and without regard to race, religion, sex, age, or national origin. The cost, net of any payment received (net cost), to MHJ of providing care to persons qualifying for Charity or Medicaid totaled ($6,991,272). Additionally, the net cost for services provided to elderly and disabled patients under the Medicare program totaled $2,802,375 in the year ended 6/30/20. These amounts do not include the cost of health activities and programs to support the community, health education programs and other community support activities.
