THE MISSION OF JEFFERSON FRANKLIN COMMUNITY ACTION CORPORATION IS TO SERVE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS, EMPOWERMENT AND EDUCATION IN ORDER TO STRENGTHEN AND IMPROVE THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY.

DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, THE PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY RECEIVED AN ADDITIONAL FORTY-FIVE NEW MAINSTREAM VOUCHERS DESIGNATED FOR FAMILIES WITH A NON-ELDERLY DISABLED HOUSEHOLD MEMBER.
THE HEAD START PROGRAM PROVIDES EDUCATION SERVICES TO PRESCHOOL DISADVANTAGED YOUTH IN PREPARATION FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. THE PROGRAM NOW PROVIDES FULL DAY CLASSES AT THREE MORE LOCATIONS AND ESTABLISHED ITS FIRST FULL YEAR HEAD START CENTER. ADDITIONALLY, JEFFERSON FRANKLIN COMMUNITY ACTION CORPORATION SECURED FUNDING FROM MISSOURI EARLY HEAD START, ENABLING 44 MORE PARTICIPANTS TO RECEIVE OUR SERVICES. THE QUALITY OF THE PROGRAM WAS ENHANCED AS THE FAMILY DEVELOPMENT CREDENTIALS AND PARENTS AS TEACHERS CERTIFICATIONS INCREASED BY 25%. OUR FEDERAL MONITORING RESULTED IN ZERO FINDINGS AND OUR HEAD START DIRECTOR NOW PARTICIPATES AS AN EXPERT PANELIST ON PROJECT ECHO WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI SCHOOL OF MEDICINE TO SHARE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPAND ACCESS TO ENHANCING QUALITY SERVICES TO MISSOURI HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START PROGRAMS.
THE ENERGY CRISIS INTERVENTION PROGRAM PROVIDED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO 2,671 HOUSEHOLDS TO PREVENT DISCONNECTION OR RESTORE UTILITY SERVICES IN THE LAST FISCAL YEAR.
