TO REPRESENT, PROTECT, PROMOTE AND IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL , HEALTH AND RELIGIOUS INTERESTS OF THE FARMERS IN MISSOURI.
COMMODITIESMISSOURI FARM BUREAU'S COMMODITIES DEPARTMENT STRIVES TO EDUCATE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS IN THE EFFECTIVE MARKETING OF COMMODITIES RELATIVE TO PRODUCTION AGRICULTURE. IN ADDITION, MFB SUPPORTS COMMODITY PRODUCERS IN MARKETING THEIR PRODUCTS THROUGH THE REPRESENTATION ON VARIOUS STATE AND LOCAL AGRICULTURAL BOARDS AND TRADE ASSOCIATIONS.
LEGISLATIVE PROGRAMS & POLICY DEVELOPMENTMISSOURI FARM BUREAU'S LEGISLATIVE STAFF MEMBERS REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF MISSOURI FARM BUREAU MEMBERS' EVERY DAY ON NATIONAL AND STATE POLICY ISSUES. MFB HAS AN IMPRESSIVE LIST OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDING BRINGING BETTER ROADS TO RURAL MISSOURI, REMOVING THE STATE SALES TAX ON FARM MACHINERY, LIMITING THE GROWTH OF STATE TAXES FOR ALL MISSOURIANS, PRESERVING THE RIGHTS OF PROPERTY OWNERS, WORKING TO PREVENT UNREASONABLE GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS, AND MUCH MORE. MFB POLICY POSITIONS ARE DETERMINED BY THE THOUSANDS OF MISSOURIANS WHO ARE ITS MEMBERS. THE RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE MEETS EACH YEAR IN JUNE TO CONSIDER CURRENT ISSUES AND QUESTIONS FOR THE POLICY QUESTIONNAIRE THAT APPEARS IN THE JULY ISSUE OF SHOW ME MISSOURI FARM BUREAU MAGAZINE. COUNTY FARM BUREAUS REVIEW MEMBER RESPONSES AND SUBMIT POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE. IN OCTOBER, THE RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE REVIEWS COUNTY RECOMMENDATIONS AND PREPARES TENTATIVE POLICY RESOLUTIONS. AT THE STATE ANNUAL MEETING IN DECEMBER, VOTING DELEGATES REPRESENTING COUNTY FARM BUREAUS OFFER AMENDMENTS FROM THE DELEGATE FLOOR. DELEGATES VOTE ON ALL EXISTING AND AMENDED POLICY RESOLUTIONS.
