Education through Seminars and Annual ConventionThe education provided by the MCPA accomplishes at least three goals. First, the seminars and convention help the chiropractors achieve the 48 hours of continuing education required bi-annually to maintain their chiropractic license in Missouri. Second, specific seminars help the chiropractors and their assistants file accurate reports and documentation required by the insurance industry when reporting patient services and care. Third, meetings and seminars also educate the chiropractors on the issues important to their profession and how the MCPA is involved to help advance their profession.Annual Convention: The MCPA Convention has three days of classes and meetings with a Board of Directors meeting held the last day after classes are completed, and a golf tournament is held the day prior to convention. The 2019 convention hosted 262 chiropractors and their assistants. There were also 44 suppliers in attendance. The total income from the 2019 Annual Convention = $100,927; and the total expense was $59,088.The MCPA offered 42 hours of continuing education for the chiropractors, along with 8 hours of classes for their assistants and office. A general membership meeting was held to update the doctors on the issues critical to their profession and how the MCPA was working to advance their profession.District and State Seminars: The MCPA held 8 seminars during 2019. Approximately 613 Chiropractic Physicians and assistants attended these seminars. The total income from the seminars was $104,080; and the total expense was $51,479. Approximately 316 Chiropractic Physicians attended these meetings. Some of the meetings featured a guest speaker on key topics for the profession.
