THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT TRADE ASSOCIATION WAS FORMED IN 1993. IT'S MAJOR FOCUS IS TO PROMOTE THE COMMON BUSINESS INTERESTS AND GENERAL WELFARE OF ITS MEMBER COMPANIES - THE RIVERBOAT CASINOS OPERATING IN THE STATE OF MISSOURI. MGA STRIVES TO IMPROVE THE SERVICES OF ITS MEMBER COMPANIES TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI AND TO REPRESENT THE MEMBER COMPANIES AND THEIR INTEREST BEFORE THE MISSOURI GENERAL ASSEMBLY AS WELL AS TO WORK FOR COOPERATION BETWEEN THE INDUSTRY AND STATE AGENCY THAT REGULATES THE GAMING INDUSTRY.
The Association was organized as a result of the State of Missouri approving legalized gambling on the riverboats in the State of Missouri. To that end, the association represents the 12 riverboat casinos licensed to operate in the State of Missouri and strives to assure that the interest of the gamining industry are not jeopardized by the regulating body of the State of Missouri or by the actions of the Missouri General Assembly. The association continues to work to educate our youth through the Project 21 Scholarship Program of the dangers of underage gambling. The association is very active in the Missouri alliance to curb problem gambling amd funds the betsoff hotline which provides counselling services to those seeking assistance with a gambling problem.
