TO PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO VETERANS OF MISSOURI
The SkillUP program is the employment and training program for Food Stamp (SNAP) recipients which promotes rapid attachment to work through skills development. The MONGF is partnered with the Family Support Division (FSD) and MCIC-CC through a subcontract agreement with MCIC-CC to provide direct assistance to those Service Members, Veterans, family members and all able-bodied SNAP recipients, to assist individuals in overcoming barriers to employment, equipping them with the skills necessary to become competitive applicants, and connecting them with employers and careers in their communities. The MONGF spent $358,564 for information gathering & research, and defined the issues and developed courses of actions to:Address the barriers to employment faced by Food Stamp (SNAP) recipients;Equip unemployed and underemployed benefits recipients with the skills necessary to make them competitive for jobs in their communities; andConnect those individuals to jobs with local and regional employers
The MONGF received State Counter Drug funds and distributed $14,032 for training (and training aids) to provide drug and alcohol abuse prevention and addiction interdiction.
The MONGF provided $7,252 in rental assistance to qualified residents of Poplar Bluff Villas.
