As the only mission-driven, Kansas City-based CDFI exclusively serving low to moderate-income communities in the Kansas City metro, AltCap is a critical source of capital for communities and small and micro business that are undeserved by traditional financial institutions. In FYE 2019 AltCap provided New Market Tax Credit facilitated finaning for job creating businesses and catalytic real estate development projects as well as small business and micro loans to predominately women and minority-owened businesses through its targeted loan funds.
Since 2008, the Organization has participated in a federal tax credit program that is used to stimulate investment in economically distressed communities. The Organization deployed 31 million in new market tax credits which was used to finance job creating businesses and as a catalyst for real estate development projects in its service area predominately economically distressed census tracts in the urban core of the Kansas City metro area.
The Organization provides in-kind service/resources to a non-profit community development organization that focuses on supporting neighborhood capacity building efforts in the our service area.
