Organizations Filed Purposes: CRITTENTON CHILDREN'S CENTER IS A FAITH-BASED, NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROVIDING THE HIGHEST QUALITY INNOVATIVE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AS PART OF THE SAINT LUKE'S HEALTH SYSTEM.

ADOLESCENT AND FAMILY MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT SERVICES

ALL PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSES WERE INCURRED IN FURTHERANCE OF CRITTENTON'S MISSION, WHICH IS TO PROMOTE FAMILY WELLNESS BY PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE SYSTEM OF COMPREHENSIVE MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT SERVICES, PARENTING INFORMATION, AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS FOR INDIVIDUAL CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.CRITTENTON IS COMMITTED TO SERVING ALL WHO SEEK SERVICES REGARDLESS OF THEIR SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS. CRITTENTON PARTICIPATES IN MEDICAID.SOME EXAMPLES OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY CRITTENTON INCLUDE:HOSPITAL - THE PURPOSE OF CRITTENTON'S HOSPITAL PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE BRIEF, SYMPTOM ORIENTED, FAMILY FOCUSED CRISIS INTERVENTION AND STABILIZATION TO CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS SUFFERING ACUTE PSYCHIATRIC OR BEHAVIORAL DIFFICULTY. THE GOAL OF TREATMENT IS TWO-FOLD: (1) TO QUICKLY STABILIZE SEVERE PSYCHIATRIC SYMPTOMS THAT RENDER YOUTH DANGEROUS TO THEMSELVES OR OTHERS AND (2) TO TEACH PATIENTS AND FAMILIES SKILLS IMPORTANT TO PREVENTING FUTURE CRISIS SITUATIONS.RESIDENTIAL - THE OBJECTIVE OF CRITTENTON'S RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE AN INTENSIVE, STRUCTURED THERAPEUTIC ENVIRONMENT DESIGNED TO REMEDIATE PERSISTENT BEHAVIORAL AND EMOTIONAL DISTURBANCES IN DIFFICULT-TO-TREAT ADOLESCENTS. THE PROGRAM IS ESPECIALLY USEFUL IN SITUATIONS WHERE REPEATED ATTEMPTS AT OUTPATIENT AND HOSPITAL TREATMENT HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL.OUTPATIENT CLINICS AND PREVENTION/COMMUNITY PROGRAMS - THERE WERE 15,000 OUTPATIENT CLINIC VISITS FROM JANUARY THROUGH MID-NOVEMBER 2016.CRITTENTON'S HEADSTART-TRAUMASMART PROGRAM SERVED APPROXIMATELY 9,800 AT-RISK STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES DURING THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR. IT ALSO PROVIDED IN-SERVICE TRAINING TO 2,700 TEACHERS, PARENTS, AND AGENCY PROFESSIONALS.CRITTENTON CONTRACTS WITH THE MISSOURI DIVISION OF FAMILY SERVICES TO PROVIDE FOSTER CARE SERVICES TO CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES IN JACKSON COUNTY AND CASS COUNTY, MO FOR CHILDREN FROM THE AGE OF BIRTH TO 21 YEARS OF AGE. CRITTENTON IS CURRENTLY CONTRACTED TO PROVIDE SERVICES FOR 225 CASES.
