Organizations Filed Purposes: Our mission is to use vocal music, a universal language, to bring diverse audiences a rich repertoire that entertains, provokes, educates and inspires through a series of live performances, recordings and broadcasts.

See Part III, line 1 for our mission statement.

Artistic excellence: Pursue excellence and strive for artistic truth and musical integrity in programming, performance and recording. Our goal is to provide nationwide audiences access to the highest caliber of choral performance through local performances, touring performances and professional recordings for worldwide distribution. Our annual audiences are estimated at 2,000 individuals in performance and an unestimated number through broadcasts and recordings of our work. The Chorale's work has been recognized by the Recording Academy of Arts and Sciences twice, with Grammy awards in the Best Choral Recording category.

To bring audiences a rich and diverse repertoire that entertains, educates, provokes, and inspires. The Chorale will use its reputation as a world class artistic ensemble to broaden its reach and touch an increasing base of listeners in a wide variety of socioeconomic, ethnic and geographic communities through its performances, broadcasts and recordings. In addition to direct marketing to specific target audiences, a key element in attracting new and diverse audiences is in our programming. The Chorale programs concerts each season to reach specific segments of the general Kansas City audience. Program Service Accomplishments: a concert in partnership with People to People featuring music from Brazil, China, Finland, Africa, Samoa, and Japan; Milagros de Navidad, a holiday concert of Latino works; music of Jewish traditions; music of Ireland; Rhythm of Life, a concert of Native American and Western African music; a concert of Duke Ellington's Sacred Music.

To provide students and choral instructors the opportunity to rehearse and perform with world class artists. A holiday concert each year features a performance of the Chorale with over 200 honor students from high schools across the metro. Working with their teachers, Chorale singers prepare the students for rehearsal and performance with the Chorale and provide many of them with individual solo performances. This concert exposes young minds to the rigors of making art with a professional chorus and instills respect, self-confidence, discipline and commitment. Conductor Charles Bruffy provides a program of workshops and performance coaching at schools throughout the nation. We offer a "free at curtain" program, which provides students free admission to any Chorale concert ten minutes prior to the start of the concert.
