REDUCE VIOLENT CRIME THROUGH PREVENTION, EDUCATION, AND INTERVENTION AND TO GUIDE AND SUPPORT FAMILIES OF VICTIMS OF HOMICIDES.
In 2018 we provided services to more than 200 bereaved families including visiting 82 homicide scenes to provide trauma-informed crisis support providing 22 home visits and emergency assistance to 21 families during the immediate aftermath of homicide hosting 16 vigils for families and reaching more than 982 community members through those vigils providing 2963 family support phone calls serving 62 families through monthly support groups providing 10 weeks of evidences based group therapy and providing more than 42 families assistance during the winter holiday season. In addition, we reached more than 693 offenders through 18 prison outreach visits reached approximately 50 at-risk youth through school outreach visits and engaged approximately 60 survivors of homicide in a cumulative of 24 violence prevention activities.
