Organizations Filed Purposes: STRENGTHEN AND SUPPORT ARTISTS, CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS, AND COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT OUR REGION AND BEYOND. WE ACHIEVE THIS PRIMARILY THROUGH OUR NATIONAL TRAVELING EXHIBITION PROGRAMS, INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND STRATEGIC GRANTMAKING.

MID-AMERICA ARTS ALLIANCE (M-AAA) TOURS ARTS AND HUMANITIES EXHIBITIONS NATIONALLY THROUGH TWO PROGRAMS, EXHIBITS USA AND NEH ON THE ROAD. THESE PROGRAMS ENABLE US TO CREATE ACCESS TO AN ARRAY OF ARTS AND HUMANITIES EXPERIENCES, NURTURE THE UNDERSTANDING OF DIVERSE CULTURES AND ART FORMS, AND ENCOURAGE THE EXPANDING DEPTH AND BREADTH OF CULTURAL LIFE IN COMMUNITIES. IN FY2020, 27 EXHIBITIONS TOURED THROUGHOUT 67 COMMUNITIES ACROSS 27 STATES.

M-AAA SUPPORTS REGIONAL ARTISTS AND THE PRESENTATION OF THEIR WORK THROUGH ITS GRANTS PROGRAMS: ARTISTIC INNOVATIONS, THE REGIONAL TOURING PROGRAM (RTP), AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT GRANTS. IN FY20, WE PROVIDED 34 GRANTS IN SUPPORT OF ARTISTS, PRESENTING PUBLIC PROGRAMS AND RELATED EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR A TOTAL OF 26,478 PEOPLE.

M-AAA PROVIDES INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT AND TRAINING IN CAPACITY BUILDING FOR OUR CONSTITUENTS, PARTNERS, AND STAFF. ENGAGE HOUSTON PROVIDES TRAINING IN GOVERNANCE, STRATEGIC PLANNING, RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT FOR SMALL TO MIDSIZE CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS IN HOUSTON, TEXAS AND KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI. ARTIST INC, INTERCHANGE, AND ARTISTS 360 PROVIDE TRAINING TO INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS TO STRENGTHEN THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES AND PEER NETWORKS. IN FY2020, WE PROVIDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING TO 45 ORGANIZATIONS AND 1,020 INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS FROM ARKANSAS, KANSAS, MISSOURI, NEBRASKA, TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA.
