THE ORGANIZATION'S GOAL IS TO BE THE FOREMOST IN RESEARCH, EDUCATION, CONSERVATION, COLLECTING AND APPRECIATION OF DOLLS. THE ORGANIZATION'S VISION IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION, SERVICE AND CONSERVATION; TO ENCOURAGE COLLECTING, RESEARCH, CREATIVE DOLLMAKING, COOPERATION, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, INNOVATION, VOLUNTEERISM AND PERSONAL GROWTH; TO SUSTAIN FRIENDSHIP, COMMUNICATION, INTERACTION, COMPASSION AND ENJOYMENT. WITH THE DEDICATION OF VOLUNTEERS WORKING TOGETHER, THE ORGANIZATION PRESERVES YESTERDAY AND TODAY FOR TOMORROW.
TO CREATE, STIMULATE, AND MAINTAIN AN INTEREST IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO DOLL COLLECTING.
CONVENTION - ANNUALLY, REGIONAL CONFERENCES, TRAVELING SEMINARS AND THE NATIONAL CONVENTION PROVIDE MEMBERS WITH OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATION AND ENJOYMENT. THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF COVID-19 THE CONVENTION IN DALLAS WAS CANCELLED. A VIRTUAL EVENT WAS HELD IN ITS PLACE. THE VIRTUAL EVENT PROVIDED A VIRTUAL SALES ROOM, VIRTUAL GUIDED TOUR OF THE MUSEUM WITH VARIOUS PROGRAMS ON PARTICULAR DOLLS IN THE COLLECTION. NUMEROUS PROGRAMS WERE PRESENTED BY MEMBERS.
DOLL NEWS - THE MAGAZINE IS PUBLISHED QUARTERLY AND IS FILLED WITH ORIGINAL RESEARCH AND INFORMATIVE ARTICLES ABOUT ALL AREAS OF DOLLS AND DOLL COLLECTING. THE MAGAZINE IS DELIVERED TO ALL 7,400 MEMBERS WITH 8,300 MEMBERSHIPS.
REAL SERVICE AND RESEARCH CENTER - UFDC MAINTAINS AN ARCHIVE OF CATALOGS, RESEARCH MATERIALS, PATENT PAPERS, PATTERNS AND OTHER EPHERMERA RELATED TO DOLLS. UFDC MAINTAINS A LENDING LIBRARY OF DOLL RELATED VIDEOS. REAL SERVICES IS ALSO HOME TO THE MUSEUM AND LIBRARY WHICH ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. THIS YEAR THE REAL SERVICES OFFERED A TEA ON "THE DOLLS" TEA PARTY AT EMERY BIRD THAYER DEPARTMENT STORE. SPECIAL EXHIBIT AND PROGRAM BY NEAL FOSTER. THEY ALSO HOSTED TWO ALICE LEVERETT FRENCH FASHION WORKSHOPS DURING THE YEAR.
