The STFM Foundation was formed to carry out certain charitable, educational, literary, and scientific purposes of STFM, including and maintain high standards of the teaching if family medicine.
Smiles for Life Oral Health Curriculum is the group on Oral Health who developed an award winning Smiles for Life national curriculum in 2004. It has become one of the nations most widely used oral health curricula for primary care physicians. The grant provides funding to continue the development of and updates to the interactive web-based curriculum at www.smailesfororalhealth.org.
The Foundation program for Underrepresented in Medicine (URM) reflects an initiative to increase resources to support URM faculty, URM community teachers, and URM medical students and residents going into academic family medicine. The definition of the goal is "Underrepresented in medicine means those racial and ethnic populations that are underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population:.
The STFM Project fund was formed to respond to the express needs of STFM members for funding research and education by establishing these funds. The fund encourages groups to collaboratively plan, implement, evaluate, and disseminate findings from educationally related scholarly projects.
