The corporation entered into negotiations to acquire a substantial tract of land for community parks and community development (the Steelman property). The corporation was able to raise over $470,000, and then spent over $462,000 on the initial land purchase (the Tract1 acquisition). The corporation plans to acquire additional tracts, based on receipt of sufficient funds for acquistion and development. This property will be developed for the community over the next few years.
The corporation was able to provide shade for the Dyer Park downtown location.
