THROUGH CHRIST'S LOVE, WE EMPOWER CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO OVER COME CHALLENGES TODAY SO THEY CAN BUILD A BETTER TOMORROW.
FAMILY SERVICES: THE AGENCY PROVIDES FAMILY SERVICES INCLUDING PREGNANCY, PARENTING, ADOPTION, AND FOSTER CARE SERVICES. PREGNANCY AND PARENTING SERVICES PROVIDE CASE MANAGEMENT, COUNSELING, REFERRALS, AND SUPPORT TO ASSIST WOMEN COPING WITH AN UNPLANNED OR CRISIS PREGNANCY. IN 2019, THIS PROGRAM SERVED 803 PREGNANT AND PARENTING WOMEN. THE AGENCY PLACED CHILDREN WITH 42 ADOPTIVE FAMILIES. EMERGENCY RESPITE CARE WAS PROVIDED FOR 46 CHILDREN WITH A TOTAL OF 563 DAYS OF CARE.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: OUTPATIENT COUNSELING SERVICES AND PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES ARE OFFERED TO ADULTS, CHILDREN, AND FAMILIES. INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP SESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE. LFCS UTILIZES EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES TO ADDRESS MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS WITH A GOAL OF DECREASING SYMPTOMS. IN 2019, ADULTS AND CHILDREN RECEIVED COUNSELING SERVICES, AND 132 CHILDREN RECEIVED PSYCHIATRY SERVICES. IN ADDITION, THE AGENCY RUNS A SCHOOL-BASED COUNSELING PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE EMOTIONAL, BEHAVIORAL, AND MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS FOR CHILDREN AGES 3 TO 19. THESE SERVICES ARE FUNDED BY THE ST. LOUIS COUNTY CHILDREN'S SERVICES FUND. IN 2019, THE PROGRAM SERVED 1,269 CHILDREN IN SCHOOLS AND PROVIDED 12,067 HOURS OF INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING. THE AGENCY'S REGIONAL OFFICES PROVIDE SERVICES THAT MEET THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF THEIR SERVICE AREA. OLDER ADULT SERVICES DELIVERS COUNSELING SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS 60 OR OLDER TO ADDRESS MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES SUCH AS DEPRESSION, GRIEF, OR ANXIETY AS WELL AS TO PROVIDE SERVICES FOR CLIENTS WITH ALZHEIMER'S OR DEMENTIA AND THEIR CAREGIVERS. IN 2019, 31 SENIORS RECEIVED INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING. THE MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM DELIVERS COUNSELING AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO MOTHERS WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION. THIS PROGRAM SERVED 73 MOTHERS IN 2019.THE AGENCY PROVIDES YOUTH PROGRAMS IN SCHOOLS THAT IMPROVE RESILIENCY, SELF-ESTEEM, AND PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CHOICES AND GOAL SETTING. THE PROGRAM CONSISTS OF 10 WEEKS OF GROUP SESSIONS, FOLLOWED BY INDIVIDUAL FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS. IN 2019, 1,305 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF HEALTHY LIFESTYLE HABITS INCLUDING SKILLS TO PREVENT BULLYING, AVOIDANCE OF SMOKING AND ALCOHOL USE, AND BUILDING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS.
HILLTOP CHILD AND FAMILY DEVELOPMENT CENTER: THE AGENCY RUNS A STATE LICENSED, NAEYC ACCREDITED CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER OFFERING HIGH-QUALITY, SAFE, AND AFFORDABLE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE. HILLTOP PROVIDES HEAD START AND EARLY HEAD START PROGRAMS. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES COUNSELING SERVICES AND PARENTING SERVICES TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES ENROLLED. IN 2019, HILLTOP SERVED 182 CHILDREN.
