Organizations Filed Purposes: Develop a monitored plan of action and facilitate the implementation of various strategies for a healthy and safe community. The PCCTF assesses community needs and develops/facilitates programs to address the identified needs.

Assess community needs and facilitate programs to effectively address identified needs. The Perry County Community Task Force (PCCTF) conducts eight different programs to assist youth through prevention and intervention.

The PCCTF conducts weekly mentoring programs for youth and provides information/support to families of these youth. Thirty-three youth were served through the CHAMPS Mentoring program in 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, schools closed and grades, attendance and disciplinary records were not able to be obtained on those served. The Youth and Parents program served 1,170 individuals in 2020. Of the parents surveyed, 100% stated the activities helped them connect more with there child(ren), and 100% stated they would recommend the program to a friend.

The PCCTF conducts different alcohol/substance abuse prevention and support programs for youth - Seeking Answers About Situations for 12-15 year olds; Seeking Answers for 16-18 year olds; and Girls Circle for 12-15 year old girls. Forty youth were served through weekly meetings in 2020. Of those surveyed 94% felt the program helped them, 100% would recommend the program to a friend, and 88% stated the program gave them knowledge to live a healthier lifestyle.

The PCCTF conducts an annual Junior/Senior Conference; an annual Eighth Grade Prevention Conference; In-School lifeskills programs; and assists other community organizations that have similar missions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Junior/Senior Conference and the Eighth Grade Prevention Conference were cancelled but online/social network events were held. The In-School lifeskills programs served 969 youth in 2020 and 72% of them felt the programs were beneficial to them.
