WEPOWERs mission is to activate community power to re-design education, economic, health, and justice systems to be just and equitable for all.
Power Building Academies - The Power-Building Academy is an entry point for community members who want to lead change. Over seven months, a place-based class of up to 35 residents partner with WEPOWER to learn, collaborate, and take action.
Tomorrow Builders Fellowship - Activate changemakers to reimagine and redesign systems that impact them by increasing public funding for and improve early childhood education across the region. To date, they have engaged over 20,000 community members and are on track to achieve high impact policy changes that can improve family well being.
Elevate/Elevar - The Elevate/Elevar Accelerator provides Black and Latinx small business founders with the capital, curriculum, and connections to grow their businesses and create living-wage jobs in North St. Louis. Our inaugural cycle of Elevate/Elevar received 90+ applications after we engaged and supported hundreds of local entrepreneurs with improving their business plans and potential to attract capital. Over 800 community members engaged in a community vote to help us decide members of the 2020 cohort. Now, our first cohort of 10 entrepreneurs, six of whom are women, have begun their journey to scale their companies. To date, we have provided $50,000+ in capital, connected them to a host of resources, and we are already starting to see their company impacts grow.
