ASCENSION VIA CHRISTI HOSPITAL PITTSBURG, INC. IS A 89-BED HOSPITAL CAMPUS PROVIDING SERVICES WITHOUT REGARD TO PATIENT RACE, CREED, NATIONAL ORIGIN, ECONOMIC STATUS, OR ABILITY TO PAY. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2020, ASCENSION VIA CHRISTI HOSPITAL PITTSBURG, INC. TREATED 3,384 ADULTS AND CHILDREN FOR A TOTAL OF 12,996 PATIENT DAYS OF SERVICE. THE HOSPITAL ALSO PROVIDED SERVICES FOR 139,553 OUTPATIENT VISITS, WHICH INCLUDED 2,281 OUTPATIENT SURGERIES AND 19,286 EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS. As part of the Ascension Catholic health ministry, the filing organization served in support of Ascension's commitment to both care for patients and communities and support caregivers and other associates through the challenges of the COVID-19 global pandemic in FY20.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE WAYS IN WHICH AVCH-P HELPS. 1) CAME TO THE RESCUE OF FT SCOTT, KANSAS WHEN THEIR HOSPITAL (MERCY HOSPITAL) CLOSED UNEXPECTEDLY BY PROVIDING A TWO-YEAR COMMITMENT IN ESTABLISHING A 24/7 ER. 2) VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS SERVE AS CLINICAL EDUCATION FIELD PLACEMENT SETTINGS FOR AREA COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES AND VOCATIONAL STUDENTS, 3) ASSOCIATES ASSIST IN FUNDRAISING FOR OTHER AREA NOT-FOR-PROFITS THROUGH THE ANNUAL ONE COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN, 4) SPONSORS ASSOCIATES PARTICIPATION THROUGH IN-KIND DONATIONS OF TIME FOR AREA NOT-FOR-PROFITS, MEDIA RESOURCES, PUBLIC PRESENTATION ON A VARIETY OF HEALTH TOPICS, 5) HOST A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR THE COMMUNITY-AT-LARGE TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THEIR HEALTH CONDITIONS SO THEY CAN IMPROVE THEIR OVERALL HEALTH AND WELLNESS, AND 6) PARTNERS WITH THE LOCAL FQHC IN PROVIDING THEIR PATIENTS WITH ACCESS TO SPECIALISTS TO LIMIT UNNECESSARY TRAVEL TO OUTSIDE LOCATIONS.
