TELEPHONE CRISIS HOTLINES ARE HIGHLY EFFECTIVE IN REDUCING CALLER DISTRESS AND DE-ESCALATING SUICIDAL BEHAVIOR AND PLAY A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN COMMUNITY SUPPORT SYSTEMS.
