THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM RESPONDED TO THE FOLLOWING DISASTERS:HURRICANE FLORENCE IN SOUTH CAROLINA BY DEPLOYING A DATA MANAGEMENT TEAM TO SUPPORT THE ONGOING AMERICORPS MISSION ASSIGNMENT. ACSTL COORDINATED THE WORK ORDER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR THE FIELD TEAMS TO CONDUCT MUCKING AND GUTTING ON HURRICANE AFFECTED HOMES. ACSTL RESPONDED IN LATE OCTOBER AND SERVED THROUGH EARLY NOVEMBER.INDIVIDUALS ASSISTED - WORK ORDERS MANAGED: 1120PARTNERS: UNITED WAY, SOUTH CAROLINA SERVICE COMMISSION, AMERICORPS DISASTER RESPONSE TEAMSHURRICANE MICHAEL IN THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE ALONGSIDE OTHER AMERICORPS - DISASTER RESPONSE TEAMS. ACSTL SERVED IN CONJUNCTION WITH VOLUNTEER FLORIDA AND SUPPORTED THE MISSION AS THE MANAGEMENT TEAM FOR THE OPERATIONS IN PANAMA CITY - BAY COUNTY. THE SERVICE CENTERED AROUND WIND DAMAGED TREE REMOVAL AND ROOF TARPING TO EXPEDITE HOMEOWNERS RETURNING TO THEIR OWN HOMES. ACSTL IS COORDINATED THE WORK ORDER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND SERVED CLOSELY ALONGSIDE VOLUNTARY AGENCIES, COUNTY OFFICIALS AND FEDERAL PARTNERS. ACSTL REPRESENTED AMERICORPS AT COUNTY MEETINGS TO DEVELOP LONG-TERM RECOVERY GROUPS FOR DISASTER RECOVERY.INDIVIDUALS ASSISTED - WORK ORDERS MANAGED: 1140PARTNERS: FEMA, VOLUNTEER FLORIDA, BAY COUNTY, GULF COUNTY, HEAVY EQUIPMENT RESPONSE COALITION, ALL HANDS AND HEARTS, AMERICORPS DISASTER RESPONSE TEAMSTHE CAMP FIRE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THIS WAS THE DEADLIEST AND MOST DESTRUCTIVE WILDFIRE IN CALIFORNIA'S HISTORY. THIS MISSION ASSIGNMENT WAS TO SUPPORT BUTTE COUNTY IN VOLUNTEER AND DONATIONS MANAGEMENT, IN REGARDS TO HUMAN AND ANIMAL SHELTERING, POINTS OF DONATION DISTRIBUTION AND VOLUNTEER AND DONATED RESOURCE TRACKING. ACSTL ESTABLISHED AN ONLINE PLATFORM TO SERVE AS A VIRTUAL VOLUNTEER RECEPTION CENTER AND PROCESSED VOLUNTEERS, TRACKING HOURS FOR THE FEDERAL COST-SHARE. ACSTL PARTNERED WITH CALIFORNIA VOLUNTEERS IN SUPPORTING THE FIRST MISSION ASSIGNMENT FOR AMERICORPS-DISASTER RESPONSE TEAMS IN CALIFORNIA. IN TOTAL, ERT ASSISTED ON OVER 30 FIRE INCIDENTS, 9,407 ACRES WERE PROTECTED OR STEWARDED, 7,477 HAZARD TREES WERE REMOVED, AND 643 MILES OF TRAIL WERE CONSTRUCTED OR MAINTAINED.ADDITIONALLY, MEMBERS CONDUCTED 5 ST. LOUIS AREA SERVICE DAYS WITH COMMUNITY PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS. THESE DAYS ALLOWED MEMBERS INSIGHT ON OTHER ASPECTS OF SERVICE IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITY. IT ALSO ALLOWED AMERICORPS ST. LOUIS TO CONNECT WITH ST. LOUIS ORGANIZATIONS IN A MEANINGFUL WAY.
