WE ARE ADVOCATES FOR A COMPASSIONATE AND JUST SOCIETY THROUGH OUR ACTIONS AND OUR WORDS.
TO ACTIVELY SEEK AND INVEST CHARITABLE SUPPORT FOR PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL, SO THAT THEY MAY IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITIES THEY SERVE.
The Providence Health Foundation provides funding to support Providence Health System's greatest needs. With the support of generous associates, physicians, board members, and donors, Providence is able to change the lives of those we serve in a meaningful and lasting way. The Foundation provides support for community based services and programs, associate engagement activities, education and training efforts, and campus projects. Understanding the many aspects of life that impact one's health, Providence and the Foundation are committed to improving the overall well-being of the communities and people we are so privileged to serve. AS PART OF THE ASCENSION CATHOLIC HEALTH MINISTRY, THE FILING ORGANIZATION SERVED IN SUPPORT OF ASCENSION'S COMMITMENT TO BOTH CARE FOR PATIENTS AND COMMUNITIES AND SUPPORT CAREGIVERS AND OTHER ASSOCIATES THROUGH THE CHALLENGES OF THE COVID-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC IN FY20.
Spirit of Providence Associate Giving Campaign The Spirit of Providence Associate Giving Campaign helped us achieve our overall mission to serve the community by giving all associates the opportunity to help our organization, patients, and each other. Donations received through the Campaign provided relief to Associates in need through the Associate Hardship Support Program, supported campus programs through the Providence Health Fund, and strengthened the local senior community through our Senior Connection Network. In honor of their contributions and on-going hard work, the Providence Health Foundation and Providence Health System Administration also provided associates with Spirit of Providence campus events all year long to allow them to safely gather to relieve stress and fellowship together. Many of the events included free food, farmer's market, ice cream socials, 5K walks, social justice marches, team building exercises and game days.
Associate Hardship Support Program In April 2020, we launched our Providence Associate Hardship Support Program through the Spirit of Providence Associate Giving Campaign. The Hardship Support Program provided financial assistance for associates who were facing challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We received requests for help with medication costs, grocery costs, assistance with utility payments, or help with adjusting to life events such as spousal job loss and increasing costs created by children being at home instead of school. In the first week the benefit was announced in our ministry, over 50 requests were received and granted to our front line associates campus wide. In total, we received almost 400 associate requests and the Foundation provided $62,177 in assistance. The most common request was for assistance with groceries. The gratitude we've received from those associates we were able to help is humbling, as is the depth of requests we've received.
