Organizations Filed Purposes: TO INITIATE, DEVELOP AND ACCELERATE IMPLEMENTATION OF GREEN BUILDING CONCEPTS, TECHNOLOGIES AND PRINCIPLES THAT PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE, PROSPEROUS AND HEALTHY PLACES TO LIVE AND WORK.

WE WORK TO TRANSFORM THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT BY IMPROVING HUMAN HEALTH, SUPPORTING ECONOMIES & PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT THROUGH GREEN BUILDINGS. WE PROVIDE ON-GOING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, OUTREACH EVENTS & NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES AROUND GREEN BUILDING PRACTICES.

THROUGHOUT 2019, USGBC-MISSOURI GATEWAY CHAPTER CONTINUED TO ASSIST IN CREATING GREEN AND HEALTHY SPACES TO LIVE, WORK, AND LEARN BY PROVIDING ROBUST OUTREACH AND EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES. ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE: 1. WE PROVIDED YEAR-LONG OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT GREEN BUILDING TO CONNECT AND LEARN BY HOLDING 27 UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL EVENTS THAT REACHED 1,350 INDIVIDUALS. 2. COORDINATED THE FIFTH ANNUAL GREEN SCHOOLS QUEST WITH 59 SCHOOLS-MENTOR TEAMS IMPLEMENTING NO OR LOW COST SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS. OVER 5,000 STUDENTS AND FACULTY PARTICIPATED IN PROJECTS AND REPORTED REACHING AN ADDITIONAL 30,000 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH THEIR PROJECTS. OUR GREEN SCHOOLS WORK IS ALSO EXPANDING TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF A STATEWIDE MISSOURI GREEN SCHOOLS PROGRAM AND WE WERE AWARDED AN OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD BY THE MISSOURI ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (MEEA) IN RECOGNITION OF USGBC-MGC'S LEADERSHIP IN HELPING TO ADVANCE GREEN SCHOOLS INITIATIVES IN MISSOURI AND AS AN INVALUABLE PARTNER IN MOVING MEEA'S MISSION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY FORWARD. 3. HOSTED USGBC'S CEO FOR TWO LEED PLAQUE PRESENTATIONS - AT THE VISITORS CENTER & MUSEUM AT THE GATEWAY ARCH AND SOLDIERS MEMORIAL MILITARY MUSEUM. 4. PROVIDED 15 BENCHMARKING EDUCATION AND HELP SESSIONS FOR 212 INDIVIDUALS AS PART OF OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS. WE ALSO DEVELOPED AN ENERGY EFFICIENCY CHECKLIST AND ASSISTED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AROUND A BUILDING ENERGY PERFORMANCE STANDARD.
