To furnish free medical/dental services to underpriviledged persons in Honduras other foreign countries to organize volunteers collect medical/dental supplies receive donations to pay for such free services.
In March 2019 two medical and dental teams comprised of 44 volunteers traveled to remote areas of Honduras to provide medical and dental services, pap screenings and eyesight evaluations. A total of 4,234 people were served in 10 villages surrounding Pimienta in Honduras. This included 2081 medical patients, 641 dental patients, 484 pap screenings and 905 eyesight evaluations. Each team distributed medications to patients as needed, and any medications not used were donated to medical clinics in the areas served. Funds were subsequently donated to provide any follow up care and procedures identified during general medical exams and pap screenings during this trip.
A total of four 40 ft containers including construction supplies, medications, medical and dental supplies, clothing, school supplies and other humantarian items were shipped to Pimienta, Honduras and distributed to the needy in various areas throughout Pimienta, Honduras. Included in these shipments are donations to help support the Pimienta Womens Center and Sewing School, medications and medical supplies were distributed to approximately 10 clinics and hospitals toys distributed at Christmas time and special annual Celebration of Mothers at which time more than 2000 women received food items and gifts such as clothing, soap and shoes.
