MusicWorks is an intensive after-school program, offered in the city of Asheville to school-aged children in under served populations that uses music education as a tool to teach life skills. MusicWorks has served over 225 students since its inception. Students participating in MW consistently score higher than their peers in reading. Students with academic success go on to bright futures and build strong communities. More than 80% are reading at or above grade level. Starting in Kindergarten, we focus on musicianship, performance, choral and instrumental ensembles with students acting as mentors. We provide homework help and academic enrichment to support academic achievement.
