The mission of WNCAP is to provide HIV-related client support, prevention education and advocacy. Our vision is that all people have equal access to health care and health promotion. We are guided by four core values: accountability, collaboration, compassion and continuous learning (including learning from the community and professional development).

WNCAP's core programming consists of three service types: HIV Medical Case Management, Sexually Transmitted Infection prevention & care coordination, and pharmacy services. Case Management: WNCAP's case management program provides care coordination and support services to people living with HIV in the 18-county Region 1, as defined by the NCDHHS's Regional Networks of Care and Prevention. Case management services include: transportation coordination to medical appointments, referrals to medical or behavioral health care, emergency financial assistance to prevent homelessness, and a peer navigator program.
STI Prevention: WNCAP's STI Prevention program provides STI Prevention education, free condom distribution, confidential testing for HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV), referrals to treatment for HIV/HCV, referrals to medical or behavioral health care, syringe exchange services, and overdose reversal kit distribution to people living in the 18-county Region 1 of WNC, as defined by the NCDHHS's Regional Networks of Care and Prevention. This fical year, our services included: HIV and STI prevention education sites: 25 Prophylactic distribution site: 50 Free STD testing sites: 30 Distributed overdose prevention kits: over 10,000
Pharmacy Program: WNCAP contracts with three specialty pharmacies to provide improved access to medications for people living with HIV and those at risk of contracting HIV. WNCAP's Pharmacy Program includes, but is not limited to: financial assistance towards out of pocket medication costs for the underinsured, patient assistance program enrollments for the uninsured, HIV treatment adherence monitoring, HCV care coordination and navigation, PrEP referrals and navigation, and free home delivery of medications for homebound clients. This fiscal year WNCAP: Covered medical expenses: 114 clients Referred for Hep C treatment: 27 clients
