Mountain Sun Community Schools mission is to cultivate each students natural curiosity and love of learning through a challenging academic curriculum grounded in mutual respect and a sense of belonging. We recognize each students unique potential and nurture their passions.
School: In the 2019-20 school year Mountain Sun Community School served 93 children ages 3 - 13. Mountain Sun serves children in a carefully prepared environment with specially trained teachers using Montessori principles along with other complementary educational practices. Lots of time spent outdoors, small multi-age classrooms and exceptional educators create a nurturing environment where each child is challenged and inspired to be their best: academically, socially, emotionally and physically.
Natural Play Project: In the year ended June 30, 2020 152 children, ages 3-14 were served with the Natural Play Project.The Natural Play Project provides educational programming and access to outdoor spaces for young children and their families and highlights the important short and long-term benefits of getting children comfortable and joyful outdoors.
