Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO PRESERVE THE LEGACY OF PIONEER FAMILIES WHO SETTLED IN THE APPLACHIAN MOUNTAIN REGION OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES EXAMPLES OF PIONEER LIFE AS WELL AS HISTORICAL STRUCTURES FOR VISITORS AND FOR EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ON PIONEER LIFE.
THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO PROMOTE EDUCATION TO A NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS RELATED TO LIFESTYLE OF PIONEER FAMILIES THAT SETTLED IN THE APPALACHIAN REGION OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA. IN THE CURRENT YEAR THE GROUP HAD FOUR EVENTS THEY PUT ON - PARTICIPATE LEARING TEACHING FELLOWSHIP, FALL AND CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSES, YOUNG FAMILY REUNION, AND THE DONALD DAVIS STORYTELLING RESIDENCY. IN ADDITION THE ORGAINIZATION SPONSORED A NUMBER OF HISTORICAL LECTURES. IN ONE EVENT, THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED 75 INTERNATIONAL TEACHERS FOR A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP. THE PROGRAM FEATURES HANDS ON EXPERIENCES.
