Our mission is to shelter, rehabilitate and adopt stray and unwanted dogs and cats of Yancey County into permanent loving homes and provide compassionate, humane and educational services to improve animal welfare.

Our biggest success for the year was the addition of our kitten nursery. We were able to save all but 2 of our kittens (as opposed to a loss of 15 in the prior year). Feral cat euthanasia is down from 8 in the previous year to zero this year. We have also found that this safe environment for our kittens has reduced our need to purchase antibiotics.
