AWARDED 37 CLASSROOM, SCHOOL, AND DISTRICT-WIDE GRANTS TO SUPPORT INNOVATIVE AND CREATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL IDEAS.AWARDED 53 ACHIEVERS FUND GRANTS FOR OUT-OF-SCHOOL LEARNING AND ENRICHMENT FOR LOW INCOME OR LOW, BORDERLINE AND NON-PROFICIENT K-12 STUDENTS.AWARDED 32 NEW STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION AND PAID $77,662 ON BEHALF OF STUDENTS ENROLLED IN NCCU, DURHAM TECH, ECU, DUKE UNIVERSITY, UNC-GREENSBORO, UNC-CHAPEL HILL AND MORE.HONORED 12 RECIPIENTS OF PSF ENDOWED TEACHING CHAIRS; A TOTAL OF 84 AWARDS WERE PRESENTED TO TEACHERS AND STAFF WHO DEMONSTRATED OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE. TOTAL AWARDED $29,250.AWARDED 12 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TEACHERS PURSUING INITIAL CERTIFICATION AND 25 FOR RECERTIFICATION FROM THE NATIONAL BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL TEACHING STANDARDS. NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION IS A SELF-INITIATED, RIGOROUS CERTIFICATION STANDARD BEYOND THE REQUIRED STATE CERTIFICATION. TO DATE, PSF HAS AWARDED NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION SCHOLARSHIPS TO 335 TEACHERS.SUPPORTED 14 TEACHERS WHO WERE SELECTED TO PRESENT THEIR WORK AT NATIONAL OR STATE CONFERENCES IN THEIR FIELD. EACH RECEIVED A TRAVEL STIPEND AND 1-DAY SUBSTITUTE COVERAGE.AWARDED 2 INTERNATIONAL TEACHER TRAVEL GRANTS TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES IN GUATEMALA AND THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.FUNDED 12 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IMPACT GRANTS TO ADDRESS HIGH NEED AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT AT EACH SCHOOL OR DISTRICT-WIDE.PARTNERED WITH THE EAST CHAPEL HILL ROTARY CLUB TO PROVIDE FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES VALUED AT OVER $41,175 TO 627 TEACHERS IN ALL MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS INCLUDING, AVID COORDINATORS, NOVICE TEACHERS, INTERNATIONAL FACULTY, AND SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS. FUNDING FOR THE PROJECT WAS PROVIDED BY THE EAST CHAPEL HILL ROTARY CLUB AND PSF'S TEACHERS FIRST FUND.PARTNERED WITH THE UNC'S KENAN FLAGLER BUSINESS SCHOOL TO DISTRIBUTE $20,720 IN SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND GIFT CARDS TO ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHERS.HOSTED 3 GRANT WRITING WORKSHOPS TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND GUIDANCE ON GRANTS AND FUNDING RESOURCES TO TEACHERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.MANAGED OVER $1.8 M IN DONATIONS TO PASS-THROUGH FUNDS INCLUDING GRANT INCOME FOR INDIVIDUAL SCHOOL OR DISTRICT PROGRAMS. DISPERSING MORE THAN $700K. MANAGED FUND FOR BRMA PROGRAMS.HELD THE 9TH ANNUAL 5K RACE FOR EDUCATION IN MARCH WITH MORE THAN 1700 REGISTRANTS, RAISING MORE THAN $38,500.HOSTED THE 12TH ANNUAL NOVICE TEACHER TEA WHERE 27 BEGINNING TEACHERS RECEIVED A SMALL GRANT AND GIFT BOXES OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO START OFF THEIR NEW CAREERS.DUE TO COVID, OUR LARGEST FUNDRAISER, BREAKFAST AND ROSES WAS CANCELLED. WE HAD A VIRTUAL TEACHER'S TUESDAY EVENT THAT RAISED ABOUT $10K FOR OUR TEACHERS FIRST FUND. WE SHIFTED OUR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS TO FOOD FOR STUDENTS TO SUPPORT CHCCS AND CHILD NUTRITION IN THEIR EFFORTS TO FEED ANY CHILDREN AGES 0-18 WHO WERE FOOD INSECURE. MORE THAN $200K WAS RAISED THROUGH GRANTS, DONATIONS FROM FAITH COMMUNITIES AND INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS. THESE FUNDS HELPED FUND ADDITIONAL SNACKS, WEEKEND PRODUCE BOXES WITH LOCAL PROCURED MILK AND PRODUCE, AND ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES FOR THE FAMILIES. EMERGENCY COVID RELIEF FOOD GIFT CARDS WERE PURCHASED FOR FAMILIES IDENTIFIED BY SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS.
