Organizations Filed Purposes: CCT strengthens our community by helping people with criminal records find a healthier and more productive way of living. Our work provides employment and transition services: supports alternatives to incarceration: and restores and strengthens family bonds.

LifeWorks! provides people with criminal records a variety of resources and tools to reach their professional and personal goals. Program components include: employment readiness, soft skills, employment networking, job retention, community health supports, trauma and substance use treatment, criminal thinking behavioral assessment, personal goal-setting and tracking, client advisement, transportation assistance, and basic needs referrals. In FY20, CCT served 686 clients, 86% were still employed at six months, 81% were still employed after 1-year, 91% did not recidivate at 6 mths, and 84% did not recidivate at 1-year.

Center for Women is a 30 bed residential facility for women who are still incarcerated and serving out their final years of their prison sentence. The Center helps women successfully transition from prison to their family and community while upholding the standards of the NC Department of Public Safety. This program design is very close to the Norwegian prison model. Program components include work release, education, volunteer participation, couseling, domestic violence treatment, financial literacy and family reunification. Those released in FY20 have not been rearrested as of the last day of FY20, or 0% recidivism rate.

Families Doing Time aims to strengthen and stabilize families separated by incarceration through evidence-based interventions focused on improving social and emotional skills, building resilience, increased community supports, improving academic achievement, and building community through family enrichment programming. Program components include: Empowering Kids With Incarcerated Parents (EKWIP) in-school support program, home visits, afterschool literacy/tutoring, Enrichment Institute arts and cultural events, Third Tuesday family dinner program + adult support groups.
