The mission of Cabarrus Arts Council, Inc. is to energize our community through arts excellence. Our vision is to be an exemplary local arts council that nurtures and promotes the arts, bringing together diverse audiences by increasing awareness and participation.
Promoting arts and local artists in the community by maintaining galleries and a theater and sponsoring community programs. This also includes program support for grant and school programs noted below. The galleries and Davis Theatre attracted nearly 8,000 visitors to its four exhibitions which showcased regional and national artists working in a variety of media and special events such as artist talks, art walks and family days. The Davis Theatre drew visitors from across the state to 10 performances by professional musicians, and families to 2 family shows.Grants to area visual, theatre and other arts groups to support arts in the community. Includes grants to sponsor various arts projects in the community. The Cabarrus Arts Council, Inc promotes programs for these organizations on our website, social media and in news articles. Grants were distributed to 13 organizations. The arts council provides curriculum-related professional performances to every student in two school systems annually. No child is left behind. Nearly 35,000 students in grades K-12 attended a performance in 2019-2020. The final week of performances was canceled due to the Covid pandemic.
