The NC Albert Schweitzer Fellowship (NCASF) is dedicated to preparing the next generation of professionals who will serve and empower vulnerable people to live healthier lives and create healthier communities.
The NC Albert Schweitzer Fellowship (NCASF) is dedicated to preparing the next generation of professionals who will serve and empower vulnerable people to live healthier lives and create healthier communities.The program provided Fellowships to 25 graduate level health professional students who lead 15 projects aimed at improving the health and wellness of vulnerable communities in North Carolina. Projects focused on refugee and immigrant health and support for citizenship applications, oral health education and clinical services, food insecurity, sexual health education and health literacy for youth, science education for minority teen students, and language enhancement for teens. In addition, education and support was providing to children with asthma and their families. Twelve projects provided services and clinical treatment at no cost, and three provided oral health treatment at a reduced cost.
