We strengthen families, teachers, and communities through proven counseling, coaching, and training. These services are provided through community education and three core programs: Early Childhood Outreach (EChO), the Family Support Program (FSP), and Parenting of Adolescents (POA).We support caring adults in order to develop resilience in children so they thrive now and as they grow. We build up the skills and capacities of the caring adults whom children rely on so they can create safe spaces and responsive environments at home, in child care centers, and in other places in their communities. These evidence-based services are made as accessible as possible (at no cost, in the home/child care center, in English and Spanish, outside regular business hours).

Family Support Program provided in home coaching and family therapy using evidence based models--Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Triple P, SafeCare, and Attachment Bio-Behavioral Catch-Up--to108 families (120 parents and 225 children). Of the families closed during the year, 88% demonstrated improved interactions before closing. Of the families where pre and post Adult Adolescent Parenting Inventories were completed, 83% demonstrated more nurturing parenting attitudes that indicate a lower risk of child maltreatment. Due to COVID-19 coaching and therapy were provided via telehealth starting in the spring of 2020. To support families during the onset of the pandemic, emergency financial assistance, activities/supplies, case management and weekly emotional check in phone calls were provided for families to supplement coaching and therapy via virtual platforms.

Parenting of Adolescents provided Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or Triple P for Teens to 51 families (71 parents and 116 children). By the end of services: 73% of families reported an improvement in the family environment; 70% of families demonstrated the use of healthy conflict resolution skills; 70% of teens demonstrated a change in the behaviors that brought them into treatment; and 88% of parents developed new skills in treatment to best support their child through life's difficult moments.

Early Childhood Outreach (EChO) provided early childhood mental health consultation to 60 child care providers and 60 parents of 46 children with challenging behavior in their classrooms. After this support 81% of children were in stable child care and 90% of children improved on the DECA-C demonstrating social/emotional gains and fewer behavioral concerns. These outcomes were despite many child care centers closing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Families whose child care centers closed were supported in responding to their children's needs at home through supportive phone calls and drop off of materials.
