Organizations Filed Purposes: ISSA RALEIGH IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION FOR CYBERSECURITY PROFESSIONALS.WE SERVE AS A FORUM FOR EDUCATION, NETWORKING AND COLLABORATION FOR CYBERSECURITY PROFESSIONALS AND PROVIDE CYBERSECRITY TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES WHILE PROMOTING CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS ACROSS THE COMMUNITY.

THE CHAPTER SPONSORED AN ANNUAL SECURITY CONFERENCE, INFOSECON. THE ONE DAY CONFERENCE INCLUDED MULTIPLE SPEAKERS, EACH AN EXPERT IN A FIELD OF SECURITY. THE CONFERENCE PROVIDED A UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ISSA MEMBERS AND ANYONE INTERESTED IN LEARNING ABOUT DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF CYBERSECURITY. THE CONFERENCE WAS OPEN FOR ALL TO ATTEND AND THE TICKET PRICE WAS SET TO ENSURE THE CONFERENCE WAS AFFORDABLE. THE FACT THAT CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE HAS GROWN EACH YEAR AND THE FACT THAT THE MAJORITY OF CONFERENCE ATTENDEES WERE NOT ISSA MEMBERS DEMONSTRATED THE VALUE OF THIS SECURITY EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY. TO KEEP COSTS LOW WE UTILIZED MANY VOLUNTEERS TO SUPPORT CHECK-IN, TICKETING AND OTHER CONFERENCE ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONS FUNCTIONS.

ISSA RALEIGH CHAPTER HELD MONTHLY MEETINGS.AT EACH MEETING GUEST SPEAKERS DELIVERED PRESENTATIONS THAT WERE INFORMATIVE, INTERESTING AND TOPICAL.MEMBER SECURITY EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WAS ADDRESSED BY ENSURING GUEST SPEAKERS ADDRESSED ONE OF A WIDE VARIETY OF SECURITY OR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TOPICS.IN ADDITION TO THE TECHNICAL OR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PRESENTATION THE CHAPTER SIMULTANEOUSLY HOSTED A CAREER SERVICES MEETING IN A SEPARATE ROOM.FOR THAT SESSION RECRUITING PROFESSIONALS PROVIDED ADVICE ON RESUME PREPARATION AND INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES AS WELL AS INFORMATION AND ADVICE IN SUPPORT OF PROFESSIONAL GROWTH.

ISSA RALEIGH CHAPTER LEADERS AND MEMBERS ENCOURAGE, SUPPORT, AND PROVIDE CYBERSECURITY EDUCATION IN OUR COMMUNITY.TO THAT END ISSA RALEIGH SPONSORED SECURITY ORGANIZATIONS AND MEETINGS AND HELD SECURITY TRAINING FOR CHAPTER MEMBERS AS WELL AS OTHER IT AND SECURITY GROUPS AT LOCAL COLLEGES.
