Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE FRANKIE LEMMON FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF SUPPORTING THE FRANKIE LEMMON SCHOOL AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER. ONLY A PORTION OF THE SCHOOL'S TOTAL OPERATING COSTS ARE COVERED BY STATE FUNDING THROUGH THE WAKE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. THE FRANKIE LEMMON FOUNDATION, THROUGH ITS FUNDRAISING EFFORTS, PROVIDES THE MAJORITY OF THE FUNDS NEEDED TO SUPPORT THE SCHOOL. THE FOUNDATION IS THE ORGANIZER OF THE TRIANGLE WINE EXPERIENCE, ONE OF THE AREA'S MOST SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING EVENTS. THE SUCCESS OF THIS EVENT HAS BEEN THE CATALYST FOR LAYING THE GROUNDWORK TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN SERVED BY THE FRANKIE LEMMON SCHOOL AND DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER. THE SCHOOL ALSO SERVES TYPICALLY DEVELOPING CHILDREN WHO PAY TUITION TO ATTEND.
FUNDRAISING TO SUPPORT THE FRANKIE LEMMON SCHOOL & DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER OPERATIONS.
THROUGH FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND ANNUAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS, THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO SUPPORT THE FRANKIE LEMMON SCHOOL AND DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER. THE FRANKIE LEMMON SCHOOL & DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER PROVIDES EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND DELAYS IN AN ALL-INCLUSIVE SETTING. CURRENTLY THE SCHOOL IS SERVING 87 CHILDREN, AND ULTIMATELY PLANS TO REACH THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY OF 125 CHILDREN IN THE FUTURE. OF THE 87 CHILDREN, 60 HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS AND 27 CHILDREN ARE TYPICALLY DEVELOPING. SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, PHYSICAL THERAPY, AND VISION AND HEARING SERVICES,WHICH ARE CUSTOMIZED FOR EACH CHILD. EACH YEAR THE FOUNDATION CHOOSES ANOTHER LOCAL CHARITY TO RECEIVE MONEY FROM A SINGLE AUCTION ITEM AND PADDLE RAISE FROM THE TRIANGLE WINE EXPERIANCE.
